We interviewed Stephanie this month who has has just finished her Level 2 with our BSL tutor Deborah!

What is your favourite thing about studying BSL?  

A new skill  and meeting new people

What is your favourite thing about the Deaf world?

I like that deaf people are encouraging and happy that I am learning their language. 

Describe Remark! in three words….

Fun, informal, accommodating. 

How have you found the tutors at Remark?

Very good, always make lessons fun and interesting and are also very supportive. 

What are the classes like and what is your favourite thing in class?

Classes are fun and relaxed. I like that it was a small class size and informal. I don’t think they needed to be 3 hours long though. 6-8pm is enough! 

Why did you decide to learn BSL?

My sister in law is deaf and encouraged me to learn

What is your favourite sign?


How does learning sign language benefit you?

I can communicate better with my sister in law and I would like to do some work with a charity using BSL in the future.

What are you aims for the future with your BSL qualifications?

Work with a charity (ARC)
